Good art takes time. Great art is timeless.

How long did that painting take? I'm never sure exactly how to answer that question. Do the research, planning, and drawings count? Do the hours I may have looked and thought and considered my approach to the painting count? Or, do I just count the actual time my brush touched the canvas?

Do the minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and sometimes years, make a work more valued? When Bruce Springsteen sings live at a concert and is paid somewhere in the area of $10,000 per second, is he getting paid for each second of the performance? When Michael Jordan received the first multi-million dollar contract from a basketball team, was it warranted? How much is a person's time worth?

Money, art and time are not always proportional. When you want to award someone's time and effort, please consider giving the gift of patriotic art. Check out our framed giclees at: http://www.artzworks.com/ownaschwartztoday.html
